The Short Version

I'm Daniel Steeples, a full-stack software engineer based in the UK. I build web applications, native and cross-platform mobile apps, desktop software, AI integrations, and more for businesses that need real software, not templates.

I started programming at the age of 7, learning Python back in 2006. Since then I've spent nearly 20 years building personal projects across every platform I could get my hands on - mobile apps, web apps, AI tools, REST APIs, and more. I studied computing formally and went independent in 2026 to build software for businesses directly.

The result is a leaner, faster, more honest way of building software. You tell me what you need. I build it. We talk directly throughout.

I've built custom development tooling that dramatically accelerates how I work. It covers the full project lifecycle, from planning through to deployment, and it's the reason I can consistently deliver what would normally require a full team.

I direct the strategy, make the decisions, and ensure quality. The result: you get team-level output at solo engineer rates, shipped faster than traditional development.

This isn't a gimmick, it's a genuine competitive advantage. Projects that would take an agency 8-12 weeks get delivered in 3-4. And because I'm the only human in the loop, communication is direct and decisions happen fast.

How I Got Here

2026

Independent, Daniel Steeples Software Engineering

Went independent. Built custom AI-powered development tooling. Launched Daniel Steeples Software Engineering to build real software for businesses across the UK.

2024-2025

Full-Time on Personal Projects

Deepened skills across the full stack. Built increasingly complex applications spanning web, mobile, desktop, and AI. Refined the tools and workflows that would later become the foundation of my practice.

2021-2024

MSc Advanced Computer Science

Completed October 2024, extended due to illness. Kept building throughout - mobile apps, web apps, AI tools, REST APIs, and more. Personal projects were always the priority.

2018-2021

BSc Computing, First Class Honours

Studied computing formally while continuing to build personal projects alongside coursework. Graduated July 2021, often finishing uni modules early to spend more time on side projects.

Started Programming

Began learning Python at the age of 7. Started building personal projects immediately and never stopped. Programming became a constant thread through everything that followed.
